This Gluten-Free Macaroni & Cheese is creamy, cheesy, and pure comfort food! Made with gluten-free pasta and a rich homemade cheese sauce, it’s a family favorite that’s perfect for holidays, potlucks, or cozy weeknights. You won’t miss the gluten one bit!

Gluten-Free Macaroni & Cheese

Rich, creamy, cheesy, and completely gluten-free—this is comfort food at its finest.

There’s nothing quite like homemade macaroni and cheese. It’s warm, comforting, and always a hit with kids and grown-ups alike. This version is a family favorite and best of all, it’s 100% gluten-free and packed with flavor.

I use Jovial gluten-free elbow macaroni for the perfect pasta texture, and the sauce is a creamy, dreamy blend of sharp white cheddar and Parmesan, with just a touch of cornstarch to help it thicken without flour. Whether it’s Thanksgiving, a weeknight dinner, or just a day when you need something cozy, this recipe always hits the spot.

Why You’ll Love It

  • Celiac-safe and family-approved: No one will know it’s gluten-free!

  • Real cheese, real comfort: No shortcuts, just rich flavor.

  • Easy to make ahead: You can prep it earlier in the day and bake it just before serving.

  • Customizable: Add crispy bacon, swap cheeses, or stir in broccoli for a twist.

Ingredient Notes

  • Jovial GF Pasta: Jovial’s brown rice pasta holds up beautifully and doesn’t get mushy.

  • White Sharp Cheddar + Parmesan: The combo of melty and salty gives the sauce real depth.

  • Milk + Butter + Cornstarch: A simple, gluten-free béchamel base that lets the cheese shine.

  • Optional Toppings: Add toasted GF breadcrumbs or extra cheese on top and broil for a golden crust.

Tips for Perfect Mac & Cheese

  • Shred your own cheese for best meltability—pre-shredded often contains anti-caking agents and I like to use a quallity sharp white cheddar.

  • Serve right away for the creamiest results, or reheat gently with a splash of milk.

When to Serve It

This Gluten-Free Mac & Cheese is a holiday classic, but it’s just as good with grilled chicken or roasted veggies for a weeknight dinner. Leftovers are a hot commodity—if you’re lucky enough to have any.
