This Gluten-Free Slow Cooker Creamed Corn has become one of my Thanksgiving must-haves. I’m not sure where I first found the recipe, but over the years I’ve made it my own—and now it’s a family favorite (especially with Uncle Pat). Rich, creamy, and full of sweet corn flavor, it’s the perfect gluten-free side for any holiday table or when feeding a crowd!

Gluten-Free Slow Cooker Creamed Corn

Sweet, buttery, and unbelievably easy—this creamed corn is a holiday staple I’ve made my own.

I honestly don’t remember where I first found this recipe, but over the years I've made it my own. I’ve tweaked it, simplified it, and made sure it’s 100% gluten-free, because no one should have to skip this cozy classic, especially on Thanksgiving.

This version is rich from cream cheese, butter, and a splash of heavy cream, with a hint of sweetness and just the right amount of salt and pepper. The best part? It takes less than 10 minutes to get it into a slow cooker or saucepan, and you’re free to move on to all the other dishes that need your attention.

It’s a side dish that gets requested again and again in my house. Even people who “don’t like creamed corn” go back for seconds of this one.

Why You'll Love It

  • Simple ingredients: Just corn, cream cheese, butter, and a few pantry staples.

  • One-pot convenience: You can make it on the stove or in a slow cooker.

  • Crowd-pleaser: Even non-corn lovers usually come around after a bite.

  • Thanksgiving-approved: Rich enough to stand next to your turkey and stuffing.

Tips & Notes

  • Frozen corn works great! I recommend using frozen corn for best results, but you can use canned or fresh.

  • Use block-style cream cheese for the best creamy texture.

  • Double it for a crowd—especially on Thanksgiving!

How to Serve

I love serving this in a warm dish with a sprinkle of fresh herbs (parsley or thyme are great). It goes beautifully with turkey, roast chicken, or pork tenderloin—and don’t be surprised if it shows up on more than just your holiday table.
